Qorvo (NASDAQ code: QRVO), a leading global provider of connectivity and power solutions, announced the launch of QPQ3509- North America’s first Body Acoustic Wave (BAW) 280MHz bandpass filter for the all-new 5G C-band; And QPB9850, a compact and highly integrated front-end switch/low noise amplifier (LNA) module for 5G base station RF front-end. The C-band coverage range of QPQ3509, combined with the high integration and compact design of QPB9850, makes these devices very suitable for 5G small cellular base station applications with size and weight as key indicators.
Mobile Experts, According to Kyung Mun, Chief Analyst at Inc.: As the first large-scale ‘crazy’ deployment phase of 5G gradually weakens in developed markets such as North America, operators are shifting their focus to the second phase, which is the use of signal towers and small cellular base stations to achieve network density. Mobile Experts predicts that in the next five years, the compound annual growth rate of 5G small cellular base stations will be 9%. In North America, we see a significant increase in the annual shipment volume of outdoor small cellular products by operators in the next three years Liter; Because operators expect to further expand network capacity by utilizing the frequency/C-band spectrum within their expanding 5G network coverage with the help of small cells
QPQ3509 filter covers the 5G frequency band of 3.7-3.98GHz, using 2.0mm × 1.6mm compact package, suitable for base station applications. The combination of low insertion loss and high out of band attenuation makes this filter the best choice for 5G C-band applications. In addition, QPQ3509 is part of Qorvo’s extensive RF BAW and Surface acoustic wave (SAW) filter product portfolio.
QPB9850 is a broadband, single channel switching LNA module that integrates a 2-level LNA and provides functionality across 2.3-5GHz, supporting various 5G frequency bands including n41, n77, n78, and n79. When the radio is in transmission mode, the high-power processing switch can be used to protect the LNA while turning off the LNA power supply. QPB9850 provides a gain of 34dB at 3.6GHz, with a noise figure of 1.1dB and a high linearity of 31dBm OIP3. QPB9850 adopts a highly compact 3mm RoHS compliant standard × 3mm LGA package.
